New Clear the entries in Find, Replace, Folder(s), and File(s). Clear the text in Results. Options remain unchanged.
Open Open a file from disk containing saved Results and entries for Find, Replace, Folder(s), and File(s), and all Options as well.
Save Save Results, Options, and all entries to a file on disk.
Save As Save Results, Options, and all entries to a file on disk after choosing a file name. The file extension “.fkr”--for “Finders Keepers™ Results”--is automatically added to the name you choose.
Reopen Open a Results file from disk by choosing a file name from a list of the files most recently opened from, or saved to, disk.
Print Print the Results.
Print Setup Set up the printer and paper.
Copy Selected Files Copy the selected files in Results. Files are listed in Results after an action such as Find or Replace. They are listed because they were hit; that is, a Find or Replace occurred in the file. A dialog will pop up for choosing a folder to which the files will be copied. NOTE that you are copying the actual files, not the Results lines.
Move Selected Files Move the selected files in Results. A dialog will pop up for choosing a folder to which the files will be moved, a target folder. After the move, the files will exist only in the target folder and its subfolders, not in their original locations. NOTE that you are moving the actual files, not the Results lines. “Move” means “copy and then delete the originals”!
Delete Selected Files Delete the files listed in Results. This is a “Recycle Bin” deletion; so if you change your mind after deletion, look for your files in the Recycle Bin using Windows Explorer. NOTE that you are deleting the actual files, not the Results lines.
Retrieve Backups Open a dialog to select and copy files in the Backup Folder to their original locations. Files are put into the Backup Folder during Replace operations according to your selections in Options - Replace. For help on using the dialog, see Retrieve from Backup Folder. Exit Quit the program. When you Exit, all your current entries and options are saved. They are restored when you restart the program. Unlike entries and options, the contents of the Results list box, if any, are not automatically saved on exit. To save Results, use Save or Save As.
