Retrieve from Backup Folder

The dialog entitled Retrieve from Backup Folder enables you to perform two operations on files in the Backup Folder designated in Options - Replace. The two operations are Restore and Delete. Both operations may be started from either the Files menu or the buttons on the toolbar once you have selected one or more files in the list of files.

The list of files displays two columns: the left column contains the names of files in the Backup Folder and its subfolders; the right column contains the original paths and names of the files in the left column. See Backup Folder File Names.

Toolbar Buttons

Restore Copy the selected files from the Backup Folder to their original locations. If files of the same name exist in the original locations, you will be asked to confirm overwriting such files. Files in the left column are copied to the paths and names in the right column. NOTE that during Restore operations, files in the Backup Folder with names of “copy0000 filename”, in which the “0000” may be any number, are stripped of the “copy0000 filename” when restored to their original locations.

Delete Delete the selected files from the Backup Folder. These files appear in the left column. You will be asked to confirm the deletions. Deletions are sent to the Recycle Bin, where you may use Windows Explorer to recover them as long as you have not emptied the Recycle Bin.
