Find

The Find section of the Project Commander provides advanced capabilities for searching and replacing text in your project. There are Four Ways to Search for text: plain text, regular expressions, approximate, and sound-alike. You can find text even if it is misspelled. You can search all the files in your project without opening them individually. Once you have the results of your search, you can click on a result to open a file and go automatically to the found text. You can also find and replace text throughout your project.

On the Find / Replace page, select one of the following actions from the drop-down list labeled Choose action:

Find in current file Search the current file in the editor for the text in the Find edit box .
Find in open files Search all files that are open in the editor.
Find in project files Search all files that are in the project.
Find in folder Search all files in the Folder(s) edit box.
Replace in current file Replace text in the current file in the editor. The text to replace is in the Find edit box. The replacement is in the Replace edit box .
Replace in open files Replace text in all files that are open in the editor.
Replace in project files Replace text in all files that are in the project.
Replace in folder Replace text in all files in the Folder(s) edit box.

In addition to choosing an action, you must set the options for finding or replacing text. Common options, such as the type of search and whether to search subfolders, are set on the Project Commander | Find menu or on the toolbar on the Find page. Other options, including those for safe replacement of text, are set on the Find | Options page. See Find Options.
