Disk Data / Editor Move

Use this dialog, accessed from the Project menu, to view disk data or to move files in the editor:

  1. View file information for all files in a project.
  2. View file information for all files open in the editor.
  3. Change the position in the editor of one or more open files.
  4. View file information for the selected file in the Project Commander.

Note that information is retrieved from disk; therefore, changes to files open in the editor are not reflected in the data.  Save any modified files first if you want updated disk data for them.

The following sections explain the different uses of the tabbed notebook pages within the Disk Data / Editor Move dialog.

Notebook tab: "Editor's Open Files" or "Project's Disk Files"

Use the buttons on the toolbar to choose to view disk data about the "Editor's Open Files" or all of the "Project's Disk Files."  Move Editor's Files:  If you are looking at the "Editor's Open Files," you can use the left and right arrows on the toolbar to change the placement of files within the editor.

Move selected, highlighted file names down in the list, and move the corresponding files in the editor right.  Hold either arrow button down for 1 second to invoke movement until you release the button

NOTES:

  1. When you are viewing disk data for all open files, the name of the editor's current (focused) file appears in bold letters.
  2. Double click on a file name to make it the current file in the editor.
  3. Changing the positions of files in the editor does not affect the files on disk or the positions of the files in a project.

Notebook tab: "Selected File"

View file information from disk for a single file selected by clicking on a file name in the Project Commander.  The information is the same as that described above, title, name, and so forth.

Right click on the area of the file information for a pop-up menu.
