Show in Find/Replace Results
- Found lines Show in Results all the lines containing found words or expressions.
- Replacement lines During Replace operations, show the lines containing replacements.
Add to Find/Replace Results
- File name Add the name of the file containing the found word or expression to the beginning of each line in Results. This is usually not necessary because Results will display appropriate file names anyway, though not on each line.
- Line number Add the line number of the found word or expression to each line in Results. This is useful for text files, meaningless for binary files.
- Column number Add the column number of the found word or expression to each line in Results. This is useful for text files, meaningless for binary files.
- Offset Add the offset of the found word or expression to each line in Results. The offset is the actual position in the file by byte count. This is more useful for binary files than for text files.
Restrict Results For speed or brevity, you may wish to restrict what is shown in Results. These options override any other options for Results that might contradict them.
- Non-matching Show only non-matching lines from searched files.
- Counts only Show only the counts of folders and files with found words or expressions. Show no other information.
- Files only Show only the names of files containing found words or expressions. Show no other information such as lines or columns.
Add to List Results These options affect List operations only: List Folders; List Folders and Files.
- File’s date & time Click checkmark on to add each file’s date and time to Results.
- File’s type (bin/text) Click checkmark on to add each file’s type, binary or text, to Results.
Display
- Offset in Hexadecimal Click checkmark on to show offsets in Results in hexadecimal instead of decimal notation.
- Spaces per Tab Enter the number of spaces that a tab character in a file expands to on screen. This entry affects the text in Results and in the Text Viewer.
Separator for Line, Col, Offset Enter a separator of one or more characters that you want to appear in Results to separate File Name, Line, Column, and Offset when you display them. This separator, in addition to appearing in Results, will appear in any text from Results that you Cut, Copy, and Paste, or Send to Text Viewer.
Progress
- Show meter each file Display a progress meter for each file being searched.
NOTE: The progress meter takes significant time if you search many files. For speedier operations, leave this option unchecked.
