Set Tab

Set tab stops for the current paragraph, or if a block of text is highlighted, all paragraphs within the block. A dialog appears, in which you may set the type of tab, either left, right, center, or decimal. In addition, you may set,the character to use as a leader, namely, a dot, hyphen, or underline.

Setting Tabs on the Ruler

You may set tab stops by clicking on the ruler. To set a left tab, place the mouse cursor over the desired position on the ruler and left click. To set a right tab, right click. To set a center tab, hold down the Shift key and left click the mouse. To set a decimal tab, hold down Shift and right click.

To move an existing tab, left click on the tab indicator on the ruler, and while keeping the mouse button down, drag the tab indicator to its new position. (If your click is on the tab indicator, the mouse cursor appears as a small line with a left and right arrow.)
