Some functions operate on highlighted text. Highlighted text appears in a different color. To Highlight a block of characters, use the mouse or keys as follows.
Mouse: Position the mouse cursor on the first character to be highlighted. Hold down the left button and drag the mouse cursor to the last character to be highlighted. Release the mouse button.
Keys: Position the caret on the first character to be highlighted by clicking at that position with the mouse or by moving with the navigational keys. Hold down the Shift key and use an arrow key, or other navigational key such as End or PgDn, to position the caret on the last character to be highlighted. Release the keys. NOTE that most navigational keys may be used to expand or contract the highlighted block.
To remove highlighting, click on the editor or press a navigational key.
