Edit Project Item Dialog

Use this dialog to edit a title in a project or to select the file to which the title refers.

File’s Headings in Project This read-only box shows the project headings of the file. For example, if the file is represented in the project as Chapter 1 in Part I of Moby Dick Redux, the file’s headings are: Moby Dick Redux\Part I\.

File’s Complete Path and Name This edit box displays, and allows the editing of, the complete path to the file. The path includes the drive and the folders that contain the file. For example, the file for Moby Dick Redux, Part I, Chapter 1 might be C:\Oceans\Whales\Chapter 1.rtf. NOTE that the file itself may not yet exist on disk—it is a file that you intend to create for the title in the project. Furthermore, some titles, such as “Part I,” may have no associated file; hence, this edit box may be empty. In the dialog, you can use the Browse button to look for an existing file on disk or to create the full path for a file yet to be created.

File’s Title in Project This edit box displays, and allows the editing of, the file’s title as it appears in the project. Click on the Extract button to extract the file name from the contents of the File’s Complete Path and Name. NOTE that the title does not have to reflect the file’s name: it may be anything you choose. For example, the file might be C:\Oceans\Whales\Chapter 1.rtf, and the title might be “The Captain Risks Another Leg.”

Extract automatically Check mark this box to extract automatically the file’s title from the file’s complete path when you choose a file by using the Browse button.
