Perform a search 4 ways :  plain text, regular expressions, approximate, and sound-alike.  You can find words or expressions in any kind of file.  The regular expressions are like those of grep.  The approximate and sound-alike searches enable you to find a word or a name even when you do not know how to spell it, or it has been misspelled in files.  Finders Keepers^TM is fast when you have it look for words file by file.  But if you let it perform index-based text retrieval, then it takes under a second to find a word on your computer.  You can view found files 6 different ways.

REPLACE WORDS SAFELY

Finders Keepers^TM can find and replace words or expressions in multiple files--and keep backups of changed files.  If you need to, you can password-disable this function.

FOR NON-TECHNICAL USERS...

Three of the four methods for finding words or expressions with Finders Keepers^TM are "non-technical":  Plain, Sound-alike, and Approximate.  The Sound-alike and Approximate methods will find words or phrases that are close to what you type in.
